Skipper Chris

Holds an unrestricted Coxswain Certificate issued by Marine Safety Queensland.

30 years sailing experience including coastal and reef cruising Darwin to Gold Coast and overseas to Louisiade Archipelago in PNG. Chris built and maintained his previous monohull ketch which was sold in 2006, 27 years since launching in Darwin. During that time he voyaged extensively sharing adventures and the wonder of the marine environment with family and friends.

Chris worked in his former profession of Civil Engineer on environmental impact management in the NT and Queensland before 'retiring' in late 2001 when based in Townsville.

He refurbished the monohull, worked for WWF in voluntary and paid positions on the Rezoning of the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park, bush walked in Tasmania's Tarkine Forests and Maria Island, and cruised from Townsville with like minded Australian friends and International visitors assisting with turtle research at Cape Bowling Green whilst exploring Magnetic Is, the Palm Is group, Hinchinbrook, Brook and Dunk Is and north to Lizard Island and return to Townsville.

Hostess Lyn

30 years experience in many facets of the hospitality and retail industries providing the highest levels of customer service. Lyn is from NZ where she owned and managed a popular tea rooms and service station at Hangatiki for 7 years.

In Australia she owned and operated a very respected stretch limousine service for 5 years, which catered to Australian and International visitors to the Gold Coast - weddings and funerals were a speciality.

Lyn has a long standing passion for the sea and sailed with Chris from Townsville to the Gold Coast exploring the Whitsundays, the Percys, Pearl Bay, Keppels, Pancake Creek and the Sandy Straits.

Chris and Lyn enjoy a cruising lifestyle and have combined resources and skills to have Lightwave Yachts craft a luxurious purpose built Lightwave 38 blue water catamaran. The configuration and luxurious appointments were chosen by Chris and Lyn to share their cruising life style in comfort with 1-2 couples.
